"Vincenzo" is a South Korean television series that aired on tvN from February 20 to May 2, 2021. Starring Song Joong-ki as Park Joo-hyung, the story revolves around his character, who, after being adopted by an Italian family and later joining the mafia, becomes Vincenzo Cassano. Following the tragic death of his adoptive family, Vincenzo flees to Seoul, aiming to recover 1.5 tons of gold hidden in Buddha statues within Geumga Plaza's basement.
The building is unlawfully claimed by a subsidiary of the pharmaceutical giant Babel Group, intending to demolish it for a new business venture. Determined to prevent the gold from falling into Babel's hands, Vincenzo allies with the Jipuragi Law Firm, run by Hong Yoo-chan. Conflict arises with Hong Cha-young, Yoo-chan's daughter and an attorney defending Babel Group. When Yoo-chan is murdered due to his discovery of Babel's involvement in a drug cartel, Cha-young joins forces with Vincenzo to dismantle Babel.
Recognizing the limitations of conventional legal methods against the powerful corporation, Vincenzo employs Mafia tactics, resorting to violence, kidnapping, and torture. He persuades mistreated Babel employees to ally with him and destroy the corporation from within. Discovering a way into the gold vault without demolishing the building, Vincenzo also finds a USB known as the Guillotine file, containing incriminating evidence against Korean politicians and Babel Group. As Babel seeks to obtain the file for blackmail, Vincenzo strives to expose the truth and bring down the corrupt entities involved. The series gained international popularity on Netflix, consistently ranking among the top 10 shows worldwide.
