Synopsis

Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard is a gripping crime thriller that follows Seo Dong-jae, a prosecutor at the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office. Haunted by the stigma of being labeled a sponsored prosecutor, Dong-jae struggles to carve out a future for himself. Production Details

The series marks a notable spin-off from the acclaimed drama Stranger (비밀의 숲), created by Lee Soo-yeon. In February 2023, it was confirmed that Lee Joon-hyuk would reprise his role, now as the lead character, Seo Dong-jae. The production began under the working title Good or Bad Dong-jae, with principal photography commencing in May 2023. Director Park Gun-ho, alongside co-writers Hwang Ha-jung and Kim Sang-won, brings this intense story to life.

On November 1, 2023, the cast and crew held their first script reading in Seoul, setting the stage for a thrilling drama. The show was also selected for the prestigious 29th Busan International Film Festival, showcasing two of its episodes during the event.
