I Am a Running Mate is an upcoming South Korean high school drama set to premiere in March 2025 on TVING. The series is directed by Han Jin-won, known for co-writing the Oscar-winning film Parasite. It stars Yoon Hyun-soo, Lee Jung-shik, Choi Woo-sung, and Hong Hwa-yeon in key roles.

This drama follows the journey of No Se-hun, a top student at Yeongjin High School, who decides to run for the student council vice president position. His decision isn’t driven by ambition but by a need to change his image after an unexpected event. As the election unfolds, friendships, rivalries, and challenges push him in unexpected directions.

Production & Release:

The series is produced by Ace Maker Studio in collaboration with Blade Entertainment and Running Mate Culture Industry Specialty Limited, with distribution provided by TVING. It was officially announced in March 2023, and the cast was confirmed soon after.

Originally set for release on March 6, 2025, the premiere was slightly delayed due to scheduling adjustments. The drama was also featured in the 28th Busan International Film Festival in October 2023, where three episodes were screened as part of the On Screen selection.

With its fresh perspective on school elections, friendships, and personal growth, I Am a Running Mate promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging drama for audiences in 2025.
